Whether you are happy or heartbroken over the R.I.P of the Zac Efron/Vanessa Hudgens love affair that lasted four years and three motion pictures, restrain yourself: He will probably be too busy this summer filming to pursue a summer romance.

According to On Location Vacations, Zac’s first project “The Paper Boy” is one of 16 films that will be shot in New Orleans this summer. “Expected to begin filming as early as July 5 for 6 weeks,” the project also includes Matthew McConaughey. However, the crew may be suffering some bad luck as, according to the Huffington Post, they have already seen “[Tobey] Maguire jump ship, and now, [Sofia] Vergara is dropping out thanks to a scheduling conflict with ‘Modern Family.” Nicole Kidman is supposedly being considered as Sofia’s replacement, but seeing as she just had a child (via surrogate), family might come first. Regardless, the movie is “a big screen adaptation of the 1995 Pete Dexter novel of the same name.” The plot summary from Publisher’s Weekly bills it as a murder mystery featuring brothers Jack and Ward as a journalist tag-team.

Zac’s other project, according to , is an untitled movie directed by Ramin Bahrani. The screenplay, also written by Ramin, “centers around a farmer whose insistence on manic expansion begins to drive a wedge between himself and his family” with Dennis Quaid as the farmer and Zac “likely to be one of the sons.” Filming for this project will take place in Chicago and begins August 1.
And then there is Zac’s latest romcom “New Year’s Eve” with Michelle Pfeiffer that drops on December 9.
Too busy for his own good? This photo from a recent outing in Cali says no.
